Responsible Adult Course

This short-term training enables job seekers to gain the skills necessary to work as an assistant in licensed child care facilities in BC.

Through interactive sessions, the Responsible Adult Course covers basic concepts about child development from birth to 12 years of age, child guidance, health, safety and nutrition.

The Responsible Adult course meets the BC Child Care Licensing Act requirements for individuals to have at least 20 hours of childcare training including safety, child development and nutrition in order to work with children.

The BC licensing requirements are the highest provincial licensing requirements in Canada. This training can qualify job seekers in all provinces of Canada to gain the experience necessary for working with children.
